Dark Knight Opening

In the film The Dark Knight, the first two minutes reveals little about the overall plot, but a lot about the main antagonist. It shows his criminal mastermind, his cruelty, and insane demeanor. It also sets in motion a plot point that will be important later on, the fact the main antagonist has now antagonized the local crime bosses. There is tracking shots, dolly shots, long shots, and a high angle shot. The crew of the robbery in these first scenes wears clown masks to foreshadow the connection to the main antagonist, the Joker. No opening credits are present. The budget was 180 million, and the box office was 1 billion. The film won Oscars for best supporting actor, and sound editing.

Baby driver target audience

The audience of baby Driver is similar to that of our Film. The audiences are similar because it features a fast paced action crime thriller that stars a young male main character lead. This audience is most likely the young adult male category. The film was advertised with posters, these were hung in movie theaters and film festivals, which generated awareness of the film in the demographic of movie enthusiasts. Two different trailers of the film offered two different vibes which could have interested those different sides of the spectrum. These were shown on television, YouTube, and other social medias. The film also had cross promotions with other companies, Alpha Industries created movie inspired apparel, Subaru used the movie to advertise it's WRX model, and Urban Outfitters, had an elusive movie t-shirt and soundtrack vinyl. We would like to use all these forms of advertisement especially the movie inspired clothes line.

Drive Opening

The Opening of the film Drive had little of the story told in the first two minutes. The only several facts can be seen. The first is that this man is a driver, this is shown by his driving gloves, racing jacket, and the fact that almost the entire opening is him driving. Establishing shots as well as aerial shots also show that this is set in a large city. A tracking shot follows the character out of his car, and a POV is used to show what what he sees briefly. The music and stylized credits also show a bit of the aesthetic theme will be. The credits name the casting agency, production designer, costume designer, producers, who the screenplay is by, and who directed it. The budget was 16 million dollars,  and it made 78.1 million. It won best director at Cannes Film Festival, Oscar nominated for sound editing, and won a Golden Globe for supporting actor.

Feedback

The criticism I received was constructive. The film did not fit the entire screen, so I was given instructions on how to go about doing so. We were also given the suggestion that one of our characters should jump into his car rather than open the door, this would add to the thrill of the action scene. This will however require re shooting, and may not be possible due to complication with the car. I was also told to enhance the color, but this had already been done to the maximum and would be impossible.
